THE CITY OF SURVIVAL EP

SAMSON APATSA BANDA
The City of Survival EP features four poems that address the struggles faced by young people in various aspects of life in the city of Lilongwe, Malawi. The project draws from lived experiences and a visionary understanding of how stories of survival have shaped the lives of youth in the city, particularly how social and economic challenges have left many young people seeking survival as the only way to remain relevant.

The project consists of several poems that focus on themes such as inequality, injustice, and the political participation of youth. The project seeks to uplift the youth of Lilongwe by encouraging them to claim their place in the city, take on honourable roles, and contribute to its growth. The City of Survival EP understands poetry as transformative tool for this generation and those to come.
